MGC Experience

What a weekend it has been for me and it’s only saturday night!

Yesterday, I got to go to the Walibi Fright Nights at Walibi Holland (thanks to Boyfriends’ awesome job!) It was a little bit scary, I guess I’ve watched too many scary movies to really get scared quickly. The haunted house we got to go in to was a bit more frightening to me than the actors walking around outside, but still, I had loads of fun.

The scariest part might have been getting off the parking lot after the park closed. We got to the car at around 11.15pm and didn’t leave the lot until after 1am. Eventually, it stopped being funny and became annoying and a little scary as people were starting to get irritated and some drivers made some dangerous manouvres. But in the end, we made it home in one piece ^_^

Today I got to help out with the stand for Animecon at the MGC Experience (website in Dutch) in Utrecht. It’s a one day convention that’s a lot smaller than Animecon, but it was loads of fun nonetheless. I got to talk to loads of people I hadn’t seen in a long time and sell some tickets for our upcoming event. But what I really love to do, is browse the dealerroom for lots of cute stuff. And I sure found my fair share!

MostCutest (website in Dutch) was there with their stand and did I ever need them, since I folded my last couple starts earlier this week. My dad gave me two jars that are simply begging to be filled to the rim with lucky stars! This time, they had even more cute designs than I’m used to, so picking my favourites was very difficult. Eventually I just had to force myself to stop looking and pay for what I had chosen already, or else I would probably still be picking through their box of paperstrips.

So many cute designs, I didn't know which to choose.. So I basically bought them all ^_^"

I just love their plastic bags, even those are cute!

Another very cute stand was from Crafts by Cloud (website in Dutch), a newcomer to the anime and convention scene, but to me, definitely a very welcome addition! She makes very small, very cute charms, keychains and goodies with polymer clay (fimo). She admitted that some of her merchandise was made especially for this convention and so I couldn’t resist buying a Domo-kun keychain.

Even the little bag he was put in is adorable!

Check out her site for some awesome and adorable stuff ^_^ I kind of really want to buy all the cupcake cats, but I’m afraid that’s a collection that will have to wait…

One of my little less known addictions, and one I very rarely feed, is Ramune. It’s basically a Japanese softdrink that comes in cute bottles with a little ball in them. The trick is to not drink them too quickly, or the ball will block the bottle. There was a stand with loads of flavours and since I always keep the bottles once they are empty, I got a couple I didn’t have yet.

Also, Domo-kunchain and a couple origami cherry blossoms in this picture.

And last, but not least, I fell in love with this little purse:

IMAG0733It’s perfect for bringing my crochet projects with me when I go to a friend, so I don’t have everything hiding out somewhere in the bottom of my bag. Especially needles and hooks have a tendency of escaping whatever pocket I try to keep them in… But not anymore!

After the convention, we went to a wok restaurant with the Animecon crew. Yummy food and great company is always a great way to end a fantastic day! But now, it’s time to get some well deserved sleep.

So, in short, I had loads and loads of fun!
What did you do this weekend?

Cheers, Lydia
